Glenn F. Bastian, born in 1890 and died in 1966, was raised in Gas City, Indiana. Glen Bastian did most of his paintings during the 1930’s and 1940’s. He loved to travel to Mexico where he would collect bird feathers and then bring them back to his studio in Gas City to do his paintings. He was most famous for his paintings of birds and landscapes.
When he built his home he went with the Spanish style and added his studio too it, he made the whole downstairs the studio, while his living quarters were the entire second floor of the house. His house was given the title locally as the Glenn Bastian Spanish House.

Not knowing what to paint can be frustrating, so sometimes you just have to let loose and just start painting. The good thing about paint with oil paints is that if you don’t like what you see on canvas, you can always cover it up.
You might want to experiment painting on different things. Most oil paintings are done on canvases made of linen or board cloth, but some artists have been known to paint on metals, such as copper. No matter what you decide to paint on it is meant to be a fun and exciting experience. Painting is a way to express yourself and your view of things that come to life through a brush and some oil paints.
